CONTEST CURRENTLY OVER
A successful bakery is one that makes high quality and exciting products, but also runs day-to-day operations with the utmost efficiency. The contest deadline is April 14th, 2017.
Here’s what our judges are looking for:
1. Product Innovation: What novel, creative and exciting products are you bringing to your customers?
2. Marketing Mastery: How are you getting the word out about your great bakery? Are you successfully using new technologies or out-of-the-box ideas to market your business?
3. Community care: How does your bakery give back? From sponsoring kids' sports teams, to raising funds for a customer in a need, there is a multitude of ways that bakeries can donate resources to the communities they serve. How are you helping?
4. Operating with Innovation: How has your approach to process in the front and/or back of the bakery been innovative? Consider staffing, training, production and all other aspects of your business.
Contest entries will be judged by a panel consisting of members of the Bakers Journal team and your fellow, non-competing bakers.
Entries will be given 10 points for each of the four sections based on the combined level of innovation and activity in that category.
Winner will be announced April 15 via www.bakersjournal.com and Twitter (@bakersjournal)
The winner will receive a trip* to Bakery Congress in Vancouver, BC April 2017 to accept the award and a cover story in Bakers Journal!
*Trip includes transportation and hotel with a maximum value of $1500
